Orton Geological Museum: The Orton Geological Museum is open from 8:00 am-5:00 pm M-F. It is free to the public. The Museum contains exhibits of fossils, rocks, and minerals with an emphasis on Ohio, but specimens from around the work are also on display. Large iconic specimens on display include the giant ground sloth from Ohio, Megalonyx jeffersoni; Dunkleosteus terrelli, the large Devonian fish from Ohio; a Tyrannosaurus rex skull; and a recently acquired dinosaur from Antarctica, Cryolophosaurus ellioti. Visitors can come on their own or arrange for a tour by staff. Typical tour groups are K-12 classes, scouting groups, Ohio State classes, classes from surrounding colleges and universities, and various civic groups.
