NSF REU Site: The Language of Science and the Science of Language

This program is a 10-week paid summer research program forundergraduate students interested in language. The program trainsstudents in hands-on skills in research methods and informal sciencelearning. Students work on language science research projectsinvestigating how language is used in a social context, how childrenlearn to use language in context, and how language understanding isintegrated with other aspects of cognition, such as attention andmemory. They also learn how to explain complex scientific conceptsto the general public in an engaging and accessible way.
