Ohio Hellenic Paideia

In Autumn semester 2015, the Modern Greek Program at The Ohio State University initiated a partnership with the Greek American community in Columbus, Ohio, to launch a fundraising campaign for an endowed professorship at OSU. In the context of this partnership, now very close in achieving its fundraising goal, the Modern Greek program has intensified its outreach activities to the local and national Greek American community. Our community-oriented activities include: Writing for: (1) the local community magazine Ethos; (2) the policy journal of the American Hellenic Institute (AHI), a national organization aiming to strengthen bilateral relations between the United States and Greece; (3) an online open access journal (Ergon: Greek/American Arts and Letters), an example of public scholarship; (4) the Greek media Presenting at: (1) The AHI annual event; (2) educational session in the annual Greek American festival in Columbus; (3) visiting Greek American communities in Ohio to inform the communities about our program and student achievements
